The Drifting Dragon’s Respite is a large two story building with stone shingles and quaint architecture on the side of a dusty road in the middle of nowhere in front of a dense forest. An often unexpected, but welcome sight as the nearest village is several days travel away either direction. The front exterior has two black metal lanterns on either side of the solid wood double doors, and the entire building is framed by two more lanterns hanging from posts above the road. It has a large hanging sign jutting out with the name emblazoned in black with a feather winged dragon in red resting underneath.
The interior bottom floor is mostly a tavern with a bar by the stairs against the left wall and a door to the moderate kitchen and pantry just beside the bar exit. Upstairs are six rooms for let, three on either side of a hall. In the tavern area lanterns hang from the ceiling above many round tables and chairs while a large fireplace roars in the middle of the right wall.
The proprietor Roland, a friendly man in his thirties, is always hanging around the first floor within shouting distance.

Roland pushed a portion of hair out of his face with the back of his hand, trying to avoid getting soapy water on his face while clearing his vision to better see the table he was cleaning. He’d already lit the lanterns outside for the evening and brought in firewood for the morning. All he had left to do was finish scrubbing the tables, mop the floor, and turn down the interior lanterns. Hopefully no one was out wandering this late, it was dangerous near the forest. Especially at night. The door remained unlocked, one never knew when someone might come stumbling in, in need of shelter.
A faint knock came at the door. "Hello?" A squeaky voice asks, followed by the sound of something flopping onto the muddy ground outside. "Ugh! It's freezing out here!"
The door slowly opens, as a red-scaled infant stumbles into the main room of the Dragon's Respite. Brushing herself off, she then looks around, before she cups her mouth and calls out; "Hello! Is anybody here?" She asks, before she tries to stand up on her wobbly feet.

Roland stood quickly and turned away from the table he'd been cleaning.
"Oh! Hello!" The tall man said, surprised by the sudden company.
Dropping the cloth he dried his hands with a hand towel on his belt as he walked toward the front door.
"Welcome! It's been a bit since someone's passed through. How can I help you?" He smiled warmly, then noticed how cold she looked. "Here, let's get you by the fire." He changed trajectory to pull a chair closer to the still burning fire, waving the newcomer over.

As she takes another step, Esmeryle flops onto her stomach. She then groans, rolling her eyes, before deciding 'screw it' and began crawling towards to the still-burning fire. All the while, the sound of her grumbling could be faintly heard over the firewood and the rainstorm raging outside.
"Razzafrazza," the hatchling growls, "Nine years of Magic Studies and learning the arts, and where does that get me? Small, cold and wet..."
"Do you need assistance?" Roland asked as the newcomer dragged herself forward. He then unrelatedly exclaimed "And you've studied magic?!".
She then answers those questions in order of importance, flopping onto her bottom as the cloak falls off. Revealing a baby Dragonborn with scales red as roses and eyes glistening blue.
"Yeah, I studied magic," She replies, hugging the oversized cloak. "You're looking at a former prodigy." She then cheekily grins, her tail waving from side to side.

An Egyptian sat there bored. His dark golden eyes seemed to be piercing through the soul. He was sitting there in a chair, reading a book. Nobody even heard, or knew he was there for hours.
"Former?" Roland inquired, curiosity piqued. "What happened?" He suspected it had something to do with the new arrival's appearance, but it was always better to ask than jump to conclusions.
