Probably something about the xenobeast they found frozen or the one Scut'el who tried to go back to ensure people made it to safety after that impact, just to find another xenobeast. More likely the latter.
That's what I was thinking too, I just read through the documentary. The only thing I can thing of that wouldn't point to that is the fact that they weren't trying to rescue the creature specifically... but they were looking for survivors, and it definitely did survive. 
I don't know if they ever thought of another official name for the creatures besides Insectoids? But with the tropical colors and glowing eyes and all, that sounds like a similar description.

For those of you wondering how this answer could be arrived at, here's a quick explanation.
In Stories of Survivors, documentary project, we see the tale of a Scut’el who was present when the insectoids ran their stolen ship into an asteroid manufacturing facility. This survivor describes thinking they are going to assist survivors from a crash, but instead finding themselves in a life or death stand-off with “a creature almost two meters tall, bright magenta like a tropical shell, standing on its hind legs holding half a door and looking at me with these glowing eyes. … then it drops down onto all fours and starts to stalk toward me, lashing its weird segmented tail.
This is a description of a stage three xenobeast, but more specifically, the magenta color tells us it is a Frenzied Basilisk Xeno.
