"Ready with an insightful quip" is completely throwing me here.
The fact that both clues are unlocked with name length is interesting, too, but for now I'm going to pretend it's not a clue.
This still feels like it might be a scientific theory thing, presumably recent-ish and probably related to probabilistic behaviors of matter and energy, but again, last line weird.

I feel like this is a reference to the two missiles in "Hitchhhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" that got turned into a Magrathean sperm whale and a bowl of petunias by the Improbability Drive. Of course, the whale did a lot more "falling" than "flying", but "bending the laws of nature" was pretty much what the Improbability Drive did. And I think there were plenty of "insightful quips" to go around in the entire Hitchhiker's series.
Might be related to either Final Fantasy, 14 maybe? (flying whale is also called Leviathan) or the Leviathan book series, but that could also be too on the nose. 😅
I tried a few things regarding the whale and the bowl of petunias, but haven't nailed anything yet!
The whale with wings also makes me think of the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening, and I tried a couple of bits about the boomerang (which you get in that game from a Goriya, who's normally an enemy), but nothing there either.

Not sure if this would work but in the show Doctor Who there is a whale from space that the people use as a ship to travel around the universe. They built their city on the back of a space whale. It is the last of its species but wanted to help the people of earth even though it was in pain.

As far as I've read, she doesn't actually fly in the show, she just wants to. But she is also a house as well as a whale? So that's a pretty crazy scientific feat... lol.
Side note I would love for this to have a Zelda answer because I love LOZ lol, I totally forgot about the Wind Fish. I know there are more whale characters but I don't think Jabu ever flies.

Free hint: It is not too on the nose.

Congrats on solving this symbol! The answer was "Bovril".
For those of you wondering how this answer could be arrived at, here's a quick explanation.

Bovril is a creature manufactured through gene-editing by a faction that specializes in "accelerating evolution", but his creation went beyond even the tenets of that faction, hence the "bend to the natural order" clue.
The main characters meet him while transporting him and his creator amidst the alternate-history first world war, who comes to bond with the main characters through their own unlikely travels having picked up the son of Duke Ferdinand, all circumstances too slim to be common, thus the first clue referencing the series' overarching plot.
The third clue references his ability to recall information and make quick connections the characters themselves miss, often delivered in short spurts of one or two words.

Who got it?

Hello!
(I just thought it was weird that a monkey hatched out of an egg, and that lead me to the answer, sort of, even though it maybe wasn't how you envisioned it.

I should have known it would be you and your wiki-fu!

It is too powerful sometimes. *sage nod*
Now that it's been solved, I was kind of hoping I'd be able to draw out at least one person who knew of this before hand. It'd be nice to find people who read something seemingly so niche.
Hahah, I'm sorry! But konnie knew of the series and pointed us in the right direction, so there's that.
True.
