Located to the east of Lightning Street, the Orange District is the turf of the UG, one of the two major factions of Step City. The Orange District is roughly the same size as the Purple District, and favours orange Eco-Brutalist concrete architecture with nature in a very SolarPunk aesthetic.

VALHALLA
VALHALLA (stylized in all-caps) is a music hall and games bar, located in Orange's Metal District. It is MC Xavier's main venue.
The ground level of VALHALLA is a live music venue, dance floor, and nightclub. Most acts that play here are heavy genres: metal, punk, rock… but VALHALLA will host just about anyone, especially if the artist is a friend of Xavier's. You can join the mosh pit on the dance floor, or take to the upper balcony to sit and listen. The ground floor can host about 800 guests shoulder-to-shoulder.
VALHALLA’s basement is a games bar. The vibe here is more relaxed than upstairs. There are arcade cabinets, pool tables, darts, and a humongous selection of board games. Sit at finely carved wooden tables and chairs to enjoy a beer and Scrabble with friends. A few nights a week, the basement is closed to the public for MC Xavier's private events (D&D nights.)
There are two full bars, one on each level. Both offer a wide selection of beers on tap, hard liquors (including the best mezcal in the city!), and a house-brewed mead. Requesting a Cosmo might get you an eyeroll from the bartender... you'll still get one, but you’ll be JUDGED. The bar also serves tacos, pizza, nachos: no-frills foods meant for getting your hands dirty.
Sitting above the concert hall is MC Xavier’s apartment and rooftop patio. This is private to Xavier and his guests, only accessible via a secret entrance.
Being an MC's Venue, there is a strict UG-only policy at VALHALLA. FM and Banditos trying to enter will be attacked on sight.
Employees:
Ayrin - Bouncer.
Avalon - Dungeon Master.
Finnegan (NPC) - He/him. Fiddle player. Bartender, lower level.
Jagmeet (NPC) - He/him. Heavy metal singer. Bartender, upper level.
Roach (NPC) - She/they. Head of security.

ZAP
ZAP is the brainchild of Volt, a way to incorporate all of her passions (or at least most of them) into one place. The structure itself is built into and around the great tree that Rekkid is perched upon in the Techno District.
Stilted above the surrounding small buildings and roots, the first two floors are open to the general public, and serves as a club that’s open 24/7. The resident DJ plays bangers from a diverse range of electronic genres, though the club's speciality leans on the heavier side including: Aggrotech, speedcore, breakcore, cyberpunk, EBM, and EDM. Live bands are encouraged, and they have nights hosting industiral and metalcore bands that are a little too on the electronic side for the Metal District's tastes.
The second level is home to the more boring stuff: meeting spaces, offices, and a couple of public computer rooms. People can use their UG loyalty cards to book out spaces and use the computers if they need to use them.
The third floor is private, and heavily secured, and is dedicated to the security of Orange. It houses an array of servers, computer security teams, and Volt's office. The tech is wired to be compatible with Rekkid, and uses the radio equipment above to more effectively catalogue data and send out signals to any drones, and any system that opted into RFID integration. From this physical and technological vantage point, the crew of ZAP aim to make sure Orange has a good night, in every way possible.

Rekkid
This building was originally Step City Radio’s Headquarters. However, after the two factions were formed and with the building being located in what would become the North of the Orange District, built into the top of a giant tree. The radio station now only hosts slots and shows loyal to UG. Back in UG’s inception, the radio tower was used to help gain new recruits as well as discredit Funk Majesty. FM have their own radio stations now but Rekkid is still the most advanced by a long shot.

Lauryn Hill General Hospital
A block east from UGHQ is the go-to medical centre for Orange’s residents, Lauryn Hill General Hospital.
Because of the island’s “Do No Harm” medical care oath, no patient will be turned away from Hill General; however, Orange patients are prioritized over outer-faction ones. FM and Banditos should expect an increased security presence while being treated, including an escort back to the border once released by a physician.
The hospital is larger than its Purple counterpart, St. Summer’s. It's a concrete building, in Brutalism style like most structures in Orange. Its façade is decorated with mural art that changes out every few months or so. Greenery is abundant in the hospital’s courtyard and rooftop garden.
Hill General was founded in X108, following the Funk Mafia’s push for Orange territory. The OPP and its Dr. Vendys were stolen, limiting medical resources for UG. The UG council cobbled together what supplies and funding they could, and the hospital came to be. While the OPP has since been reclaimed and the stolen Dr. Vendys are back on Orange soil, the hospital remains open to provide services better done by human hands.
The hospital is equipped with an emergency room, a walk-in medical clinic, and a state-of-the-art compound pharmacy. There are different wings for specialized care, including a maternity ward for in-hospital births, and a fertility clinic.
All services are offered at a lower cost than non-essential Dr. Vendy care. These include:
Given the futuristic nature of medical care in Step City, most doctors here are "jack-of-all-trades". Surgery, pharmaceuticals, family medicine; everyone dabbles in a little of everything. Volunteers are welcomed, whether they have a history working in medicine or not. (There’s lots of jobs to be done around a hospital!)
Employees:
- Dr. Ingrid Ostman-Vargas (MC Xavier’s mom) specializes in endocrinology, obstetrics, and gynecology. She is head physician of the maternity ward and fertility clinic.
