When she sat down, the gorgeous brunette caught her attention first by way of the wonderful greeting and the sliding of a shot. Automatically, she caught it. “Thank you, beautiful!” Aubree said happily, taking the shot and putting the glass back on the bar. She sat down to consider what she wanted when she said the gorgeous brunette say she just wanted to get laid. That wasn’t a terrible idea, Aubree thought briefly, but pondered how serious she actually was.

Soon after, the door opened again, and in walked the very person she had been looking for. Her head lifted as she smelt him again, blue eyes looking up. She smiled when she heard his words, relieved that he didn’t seem totally off-put by her. “It’s you.” She opened her mouth to say something else, but the blonde, who she recognized then as Sadie, the woman she had met recently at the bonfire, walked over and spoke. “That’s right, I am the guardian of laundry and booze. But don’t generally advertise doing them together.” She responded in a light tone, which mean she was only kidding.

When Sadie walked away to check on the brunette again, her attention turned back to Creed. “I’m glad I ran into you. I really want to apologize for the way I was before. I was having a…really bad week.”
When Creed saw Sadie set his drink in front of him, he gave her a grateful smile, but then she opened her mouth. He first narrowed his blue eyes at her and spoke partially annoyed . "You bloody know I hate when you call me that, Sadie." He took a swig from his whiskey glass and let the liquor give him a nice burn to the back of his throat before he continued. "And as for why I am late. I am here now, aren't I, dear little menace?" He smirked when he asked as his eyes showed a hint of playfulness towards his sister. Sadie and him bantered quite a lot, but that didn't take away from the sibling bond or love they had for each other. It was just how they were to which there was nothing neither of them wouldn't do for the other. He waited to see what her retort would be, but she soon started talking to Aubree.

He turned his head towards the blonde sitting next to him when he heard her say, 'It's you', making him smile. "It's me." He then took another drink and heard her say she was the guardian of the laundry and booze, which made him chuckle at her. "Well, it depends if it's a false advertisement. If not, then I say bloody advertise away." He winked at her as he joked playfully. He soon heard her start apologizing for the laundry room and started shaking his head. "You do not have to apologize to me for that. I should not have approached you that quickly, love. I apologize for that. And as for having a bad week, I understand. We all have those." He smiled kindly at her, showing that it was water under the bridge. "But, if you allow me to buy you a drink and introduce myself properly, then we are considered even." He said cheekily to her in a comforting way.

He soon took the last drink of his whiskey and sat the glass back down. Looking at her and barely leaning over, he offered Aubree his hand. Making sure he kept some space between them so she could decide when he finally spoke. "Hello. I am Creed Reign. And that one's favorite brother." He nodded towards Sadie as he waited to see if 'take two' of introductions would go better than the last time.
It was a few moments too late, momentarily distracted by Creed, that she realized that Sadie was speaking to her, and asking her if she needed a drink. “I’m sorry, that was rude of me. I’m very glad I made it as well. Thank you for inviting me to your opening.” She smiled back at the blonde, then thought when she was asked if she needed a drink. “I need two shots of whiskey, and uhh a Tennet’s Lager, if you got one. If not, your best available beer.” She pulled out a few bills from her pocket, and slid them across the bar.

While she waited, she turned to look at Creed once again. She really was glad he wasn’t holding the laundry room against her. When he started apologizing, she smiled softly at him. “Well now that we’ve both apologized, I’d love to have a drink. You can buy the next one.” She told him playfully, as she had already ordered a few. When he leaned in and offered his hand again, her smile was fuller this time as she took his. “Aubree Taylor.” She chuckled a little when he said that he was Sadie’s favourite brother. Curiously, she asked, “Does that indicate there are more than one of you?”

Out of the corner of her eye, she couldn’t help but notice that the stunning brunette was looking a little wobbly, and as another female, vowed to keep an eye on her and if necessary, keep her safe. Since she seemed okay for now, Aubree’s attention stayed on Creed, genuinely curious of the answer.
"Yeah, I know you don't like it. That's why I do it, Jackie." She started chuckling and listened to his excuse as to why he was late. Squinting her eyes at him, she responded with..."Well, you missed a helluva lot. And I could have used your help with a situation. A lot has come to light tonight that could possibly change things." She gave him a look that would let him know she would tell him more later. Sadie was pulled from her thoughts when she heard Aubree's drink order. "Coming right up, gorgeous." She gave the blonde a wink and went to make the drinks.

As she was making Aubree's order, she glanced over her shoulder towards Neriah. She had been quiet for a minute and knew that the brunette would be feeling the effects of the shots. "You doing okay over there, Sweets? Do you need anything?" She asked Neriah to let the brunette know she sees her and is paying attention if she so needs anything. She finished the shots and grabbed the beer that Aubree asked for and poured it in a glass, tilting it so it wasn't all foam. She had already placed a coaster, so all she had to do was grab the drinks. With the two shots of whiskey between her fingers and beer in her hand, she walked carefully over to Aubree.

She had just placed the beer on the coaster and the two shots in front of Aubree when she heard Creed. She snorted a laugh and let him continue because she had never seen her brother actually initiate conversation with anyone. As soon as Aubree asked if there was more than one, that's where Sadie stepped in. "Your drinks, Beautiful. And as for 'my favorite' brother.....He is my only brother. Which makes him, by default, my favorite." She glanced at Creed and smirked. "I mean, even that's pushing it sometimes. And I am one hundred percent certain if there were two of me, he would lose his shit." She joked with them as she grabbed Aubree's money for the drinks. "If you need anything else, just let me know, Aubree." She spoke to Aubree as she glanced down and saw her brother's empty glass.

"Well, I guess you need another there, Jackie." She smiled mischievously at him and went to grab the bottle of whiskey and poured another double. She also grabbed him a Guinness Draught Stout and poured it in a glass for him. "I figured this might last you a little longer and make you less likely say something stupid, but I'm banking on awkward. Because it would amuse me greatly. You two enjoy. I will be doing some rounds." She winked at them and left to check on the rest of her patrons.
"Bloody pain in the arse." He mumbled to himself but smirked at his sister. His eyebrow raised when she said something happened earlier that evening, and it made him curious. He did notice the subtle look Sadie gave him, so he knew she would explain to him later. He had just finished his first drink and looked around the room again. Casually surveying the surroundings and getting a feel of the atmosphere. He noticed the beautiful brunette on the other side of Aubree and noticed she seemed lost in thought or possibly feeling the effects of the shots that were displayed in front of her. He didn't judge, but he took notice and kept an eye on the situation. In case she needed any help.

He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Sadie speak and looked towards her. She seemed to have gotten Aubree's drink order and was making it. He took that opportunity and tried to introduce himself to Aubree again. Which had been much more successful than the last time since she took his offered hand. He smiled at her. "Pleasure to meet you, Aubree. And definitely, the next drink is on me." He winked at her as he let go of her hand.

He was just about to respond to Aubree's question about 'there being more than one' when Sadie beat him to it. He rolled his eyes at his nosey sister and looked at Aubree again. "I think I will stick with 'no comment' on this one because it's the safer option when it comes to her. But, she is right. We are the only siblings of our family." He was glad Aubree seemed to be a little more open to chatting with him, and he relaxed some. "Though, family can be more than just blood." He spoke towards Aubree as another glass was sat down in front of him. He broke his gaze from Aubree and saw that his sister poured another double for him, along with a beer.

He gave her an appreciated nod and smirked at her comment about him saying something 'stupid'. "You would know all about blundering things, wouldn't you, Sadie?" He chuckled thinking about all of the times she had said and/or done something without fully thinking things through. She soon started to walk off and check on her patrons, so his attention went back to the blonde next to him. "What about you? Do you have any siblings?" He asked curiously about Aubree. He knew asking the less invasive question would be the best approach with her. He had a charming smile on his face with his blue eyes showing her curiosity and intrigue as he waited to see if she answered him.
Aubree’s blue eyes flicked between Sadie and Creed as they went back and forth. If they hadn’t told her they were siblings, she was almost sure she would’ve been able to guess that from the banter and looks between them. She watched as Sadie brought her drinks over, and downed the first one as they informed her that he was the only siblings, and Creed told her that he was keeping to no comments. Aubree smirked softly. “I will have to take your word for that.”

While the siblings went back and forth, Aubree’s eyes again looked towards the brunette to check on her. She seemed okay for now, and she looked back at Creed as his sister walked away to do her rounds. She heard what the woman said, of course, but that was sibling business, not hers. She started drinking her beer as her eyes turned back to Creed when he started talking to her again.

She smiled softly, setting the beer down lightly. She shook her head to his question. “I do not.” She told him. “I had a lot of cousins and stuff, but no siblings. I guess my parents decided I was enough for them.” She ran her thumb over the bottle neck as she looked over at Creed. “At the same time, I may also have enjoyed being the only.” She added with a wink as she tilted her bottle towards him. “So if she’s a bartender and owner, what is it you do?”
"I am actually an entrepreneur. So, dabble in a little of everything when I get my hands on it." Creed answered Aubree with a smirk and took a drink of his beer. "I travel a lot, so I am usually all over the place." He looked at the blonde and noticed she was a little more relaxed than she was before. "As for you being an only child. There's nothing wrong with that. Your parents probably didn't want to mess with perfection." He gave her a wink as he playfully said this to show he understood.

He took another drink before he spoke again. "How do you find this 'quaint' little town now that you have had a few days to take in the scenery? Has anything caught your interest?" He was curiously trying to get to know her more but didn't want to come off pushy and make her feel uncomfortable. He knew she from her scent she was something 'more' but also knew from their first encounter something had happened in her past. Creed wasn't sure what she would be comfortable answering, so he kept to lighter topics, but if she wanted to open up or ask him anything, he would answer her honestly.
Had she passed out? Maybe. It was a possibility. Tequila did weird shit to her and passing out with her head resting in one of her hands had happened before. She didn’t know if she startled awake or if her eyes just opened but she was awake now. She grabbed the last shot and downed it before she slid off the stool. She was steady enough on her feet that she wasn’t going to fall down, but her vision was a little blurry. He held on to the chair she just vacated and said a slurred good night to Sadie, “Goo naught, Lady,” She pointed to the door, his eyes closing on their own as she turned to face the door. “Imma ga home.” She knew other people were at the bar and she didn’t want to be rude to them, even though she had barely said hi. “Night.”

(No need to follow. Neriah is going to vomit all over her boat from the rocking of the storm. Sorry about holding up the posting)
Aubree listened as Creed told her what he did for a living. “Is there any place in particular that you enjoy the most?” She asked curiously, picking up her beer and taking a drink of it. She smirked a little bit when he complimented her, in the guise of a comment. “Cute. And my grandfather would agree.”

She took another swig of her beer as he asked his next question. She still felt a little guilty about how she had first reacted to him, but she was still trying to get used to being on her own. “Well, it’s uh..,it’s an experience.” She said after a moment of thought. “An interesting one though.” At his next question, she looked back at Creed as she smiled. “I mean, I could think of something interesting.”

Letting that linger for a moment, Aubree drank a little more, and also let her eyes shift momentarily to Neriah as the brunette seemed to wake up, and start stumbling out. Aubree watched her for a moment, but didn’t immediately sense danger for her. Setting the beer down, Aubree reversed the question to him. “And you? What interest drew you to this town?”
"I do like the South American countries because of their rainforests. But nothing like being home in Norway with the mountains, fjords, and valleys." He responded to Aubree's question about 'any place in particular that he enjoyed' with a small smile on his face. His smile grew wider when he saw her smirk at his compliment towards her. "They are considered elders for a reason". He responded to her grandfather comment and gave her a wink as he took another gulp of his beer.

He listened to her stumble on answering about how she liked the town but didn't say anything. He raised an eyebrow in curiosity and cocked his head towards her when she said she 'could think of something interesting'. "Well, now that has me curious as to what could keep you interested." He was truly curious now. He just knew not to be too aggressive with her, no matter how intriguing and beautiful he found her.

Creed paused for a minute and just studied her subtly as he took a drink of his whiskey. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the brunette seem to have woken up and stumbled. He turned towards her and watched her leave. Though he knew she was drunk, she looked like she would be okay to head where ever she was going, so he didn't offer help. He tore his gaze away from the door where the brunette left and back to Aubree as she spoke.

He sniggered at her question as he spoke, "I actually came to help Sadie and see what she was up to. But, when I got here I was literally threatened to stay away, or else." He paused, chuckling at the memory before he continued. "So, I have mainly just been 'vacationing' and exploring to see if anything catches my interests." He took a drink of his beer again and looked directly at her over the top of his glass. He was feeling a little bolder and..."I can tell you who has caught my interest and had me curious since our first encounter." He spoke suggestively yet playfully. Hinting he would like to get to know her a little more, but only if she would allow it.
“I quite enjoy the forests. I haven’t been in many rain forests, but I love nature as a whole.” Her eyebrows rose up in interest when he said that his home was Norway. Norway and Scotland were not that far apart, she thought. “Norway, really? I’m a hop, skip and a jump away in Scotland.” Delighted by this, Aubree picked up her beer and held it out. “To the foreigners then.” She said before lightly tapping her glass with his.

After she drank some of it, she set it on the bar again, her blue eyes tilting in his direction as he said he had something that was interesting to him. Her smile crept across her face as she looked him up and down one more. To that, she replied: “Stick around and maybe you’ll find out.” She added a teasing little wink at the end of her sentence.

She then listened as he told her what had brought him to the town. Initially, it was his sister, but she hadn’t really wanted him around, it seemed. When he said that something had caught his interest since his first encounter, Aubree couldn’t help but smile as she asked him about it. “If I may, what about that encounter had you curious?” She asked him, half wanting to know, half afraid he would bring up her initial reaction to him.
"It's the bloody accent, right?" He asked with a smile when he saw her surprise to him being from Norway. He chuckled and continued, "Scotland is beautiful. That makes sense where you hail from. To the foreigners." As he tapped his glass against hers, he gave her a wink and small smile.

He took another drink of his beer as he had already finished his whiskey and listened to her. She seemed to be okay with him flirting with her when he noticed she was teasing him back. He smirked again at her and kept eye contact with her. "I think I will then. And hope I do." He responded to her stick around comment and noticed he found her even more fascinating.

When she asked what about the 'first encounter', Creed noticed she looked curious and nervous all at once. He knew that something had happened to her, but he wouldn't bring it up. And only if or when she was comfortable with telling him, he would listen. He gave her a comforting smile to ease her mind before he responded. "Honestly, I just wanted a redo with the beautiful woman from the shitty laundry room. My awkwardness seemed to have made her run. Or she was smart." He chuckled and looked at his glass that was almost empty then back at Aubree. "I am glad to have the chance at that redo now, though." He gave her a genuine smile as his blue eyes looked into hers, showing sincerity.

He took the last swallow of his beer and sat the glass down. "May I buy you that drink now, Aubree?" He said this in a low, deeper English accent and hoped she accepted his offer. He broke eye contact with her and looked around to get attention from someone to refill their beverages.
Aubree chuckled. “I could say something offensive about Norway and Scottish accents, but I’d rather drink to their beauty instead.” As their glasses clinked, she smiled at him. He was good-looking, she thought. She thought that when she first saw him, but nerves had still sat just beneath the surface. In truth, they still did, and it made Aubree’s ears strain to listen to every movement around her to ensure none of them were hostile.

She gave no appearance of this as she listened to Creed once again. It was only regular nerves now as she waited for him to answer what about her had been so fascinating. When he did, she smiled beautifully. “Ah, yes, well. That woman is sorry, but she was having…a day.” She deemed that the easiest at the moment, because, everybody had bad days, right? “But I’m happy to start again.” She lifted the cup of beer, and finished draining it before she heard his question.

She tilted her blonde head at him, and looked him up and down. She let the question linger for a moment, as if deciding, before the smile spread all the way to her eyes. “You may, Creed. I would really like that. Thank you for asking.” Maybe this was what she needed to remember who she was. Normal interaction had been a part of her daily life, because for the most part, she had lived a normal life. A few….animalistic tendencies, sure. But overall, normal. “So tell me about you. What do you like to do?”
Creed's smirk turned into a full-blown grin when she said she could say something offensive. He hadn't been looking at her when she said it, but found it amusing nonetheless. He could feel she was checking him out but did not say or alert her that he knew she was. He could tell she was nervous with his heightened senses, just not as much as their first encounter.

"Everyone has bad days, weeks, or months. Possibly longer. No judgment coming from me." He spoke to her when she replied about the laundry room incident. He turned his gaze directly on her after getting the attention of an employee for the bar. With his attention solely on her and hearing that she agreed to him buying her a drink, he asked. "Are you wanting something different or the same as you just had? Remember, my treat." He nodded to her empty glasses and gave her playful wink as a small lopsided smile appeared on his face.

He looked away from her when the bartender came to them and gave his drink order of another double shot of whiskey and a beer. Then, he told the bartender that whatever Aubree ordered to put it on his tab. He turned towards her again and casually looked her over. She was a beautiful woman, he thought. Though he could tell she looked a little lost and whatever had happened to her, he would not mind helping her in any way. It was part of who he was and quite literally in his nature. Especially if they got to know each other more. Just as he thought that, she asked him what he liked to do.

"I like to paint, actually. Though, being out on the sea is a close second. I am usually all work and no play." He chuckled softly as he had been about to say flying, but that may have been a little awkward and hard to explain. He returned the asked question, "What do you like to do? Anything you have wanted to experience, but haven't quite been able to, Beautiful?"
When he said everyone had bad days, she paused to wonder what he considered bad, but quickly realized she shouldn’t judge one way or the other, especially since he wasn’t judging her. She hadn’t meant for the thought to go there, but it was hard when it was all she had lived in the past little while. Instead of dwelling there, she smiled instead. “I appreciate that more than you may understand.” That was sincere, and she also liked the fact he wasn’t trying to be nosy about why the incident had happened in the first place.

She glanced at her glass for a moment when he reminded her that this was his treat, but she smirked lightly. “I’m good with this, thank you. Little taste of home.” Gods, she missed home, but again, didn’t want the thought to darken her mood. She turned her attention back to him as he spoke, telling her he liked to paint, be out on the sea, and work. The last one got a smile. “All work and no play? You’re not about to go all Shining on me, are you?” She asked him playfully, enjoying the banter.

He then turned the question back on her, and she actually had to think about it. “Oh, well, I—“ It was that exact moment when the doors opened and another walked in. Aubree’s body stiffened in an instant, as if ready to jump, and her vision turned quickly from Creed to the newcomer as her eyes darkened and took a quick visual of the woman. When Aubree determined she was not a threat, as she walked straight behind the bar with Sadie, she let out a slow breath as she turned back to look at Creed, realizing she knew the answer “I like to run. Not just away from people, but like…actually run. I like to read, just about anything I can get ahold of. I love music, and what it represents. But as far as things I want to do?” She paused as she considered it. “I wanna see Paris. I wanna…I want to sit on a rooftop and drink wine, and eat grapes and cheese while I watch the lights of the city as the sun goes down.” It was a silly dream, she knew, but sometimes, it was the only thought that got her up and going sometimes. “What would you do, given the chance?”
When he saw the look on her face that he couldn't quite describe during the bad days conversation, Creed knew then something terrible had happened to her. Though he didn't mention it and let her thoughts run their course, his mind turned to the day when his life changed. Which was at seven years old. He didn't linger there long as he was pulled from his wondering thoughts when she sincerely appreciated him, for what? He didn't fully understand, but he gave her a soft smile and nodded his head at her.

Soon, the bartender sat their drinks in front of them. They both had ordered the same thing they previously requested. He grabbed the whiskey and took a swig of it and listened to what Aubree said next about the Shining. Which pulled a genuine, full laugh out of him as he looked at her again with a huge smile on his face. "Well, we can't have me dull, can we? I may need to rectify that and change some things. The inhuman place makes human monsters." He bantered back with her chuckling as he did. He quite enjoyed the witty conversation they had going and hoped it continued.

When he reversed the question and turned it on her, he took another pull from his beer and listened intently. Waiting for her to speak. She looked like she needed to think, but when she stiffened next to him, he became alert. He casually looked around and noticed that another person came into the bar but didn't seem to be of danger. He then looked back towards Aubree and gave her a gentle smile to hopefully calm her. She soon started to tell him what she liked to do, which were all things he had also enjoyed. Especially reading. He then listened to her explain what she wanted to see and where. That had piqued his interest as an eyebrow raised, and his blue eyes looked at her with more intrigue. "Paris? It's a beautiful place. Especially at night. You seem to know what you exactly want to do there, which is very impressive. Also, it is quite inspiring."

His gaze showed a fascination towards her if one was looking at him. It wasn't in a creepy way, but that of curiosity as he found himself wanting to get to know the beautiful blonde more. She had just asked him what he would do, and he paused, truly thinking about the answer. His gaze broke from hers as he thought about how to answer that. He stays around or close to Sadie due to what he had recently discovered, but he still tried to have some fun on his own. He broke from the unruly thoughts and looked back over at Aubree as he replied. "That's a good question. I can honestly say there isn't anything that I haven't actually done. I do things for myself all the time, so my answer would be to possibly make someone's dreams come true. Given the opportunity, of course." He said this casually, but meant every word as his blue eyes pierced into hers, and he grabbed his whiskey, finishing it off.

He sat the empty glass on the counter and leaned in slightly towards Aubree. He was starting to feel bolder from the effects of the alcohol, though he wasn't drunk and... "There isn't anything I wouldn't do for someone if they so need, beautiful. I can be the most caring, gentle person who is very awkward to the most fiercely, protective one for those who need it." He paused, looking at her, taking in her features and hoping he hadn't scared her, again. He was just being open and honest with her as he thoroughly enjoyed her company.
Aubree hadn’t really expected Creed to actually listen to her, but he surprised her in that way. His banter back made her laugh. “Ahh, but monsters are not born. They are created.” That one may have hit a little too close to home, and it made Aubree grip the glass a bit harder. She lifted it to drink deeply, but her eyes went back to him once assessing the new person. She smiled as she set the glass down, and shrugged a bit. “It may be a ridiculous thing, but it’s all I’ve wanted since I was…maybe six. It just seems so peaceful.” She decided after a pause of thought. She realized she could be wrong, but if she was, she’d rather find out in person.

Her attention focused again on him as she caught that small smile meant to calm her, and she did smile back. She appreciated the action, but she still eyed every person who walked through the door. She did hear Creed’s words though, about how he had already done everything, and instead chose to help others. “Is there a limit to that?” She asked softly, an edge of something else to her Scottish tone, finding herself intrigued by the answer.

She had to smile again when he told her he could be awkward and adorable, or fierce and protective. She could obviously smell that he was different, that was easy. What he was exactly was what she didn’t know. He, and for that matter, Sadie both smelt differently, so it had her wondering what this fierce and protective side might look like. She was also hyper aware of how he leaned into her, and curiously, she found herself leaning forward too. “What about…fiercely adorable?”

Before Aubree could lean into any further, another movement made her eyes shift, and that paranoia began all over again. She realized that maybe a bar wasn’t the greatest place to be at the moment, but she also didn’t want to run out on Creed a second time. Beyond all, she hated that she wasn’t on steady ground yet. She was a fucking Alpha, for gods sake. She shifted in her seat a little bit, and looked at him. Talk about being awkward. Before he got the wrong idea again, she spoke. “Do you want to come walk with me? Maybe, somewhere quieter?”
When he heard Aubree say monsters are not born, he quirked an eyebrow at her in curiosity as he cocked his head at her. "That is very true, but even a monster can be loved and love back. Though, their natures may never change." He said this sincerely and grabbed his beer to take a long drink from his half empty glass. Then he heard her speak again about her dream being childish. "That's not ridiculous at all. On the contrary. It's a dream, and you have a right to dream, no matter the age."

He looked at her directly after placing his glass down again and continued. "There isn't any limit. I am usually a good judge of character and can tell when someone is in need or deserving. Most of the time, both." He responded honestly as his gaze showed sincerity, and a small smile appeared on his face. He could tell she was trying to figure out what he was but didn't say anything. If they had continued to get to know each other and gained each other's trust, then there would be a possibility of her finding out. Though he knew exactly what she was from her scent, he didn't know who she was. The who was the more important thing, not the what. He saw they were leaning in towards each other, but he did not push it further. Letting her decide what she wanted for her own comfort.

She had just said something about describing him as fiercely adorable, when her mood changed to a nervous one. She seemed unsettled and shifted a bit in her stool. She soon asked him to go on a walk with her, and he smiled lightly at her. "It would be my honor, Aubree." He slowly stood up and placed some bills on the counter, then looked back towards Aubree. "Lead the way, beautiful." He would follow her out of the bar for their walk and let her lead to where they went. That way, she could feel in control and comfortable, though he knew they would more than likely bid 'goodbye' after they walked out the door. If she had a change of mind, he wouldn't take it hard. He knew he wasn't the most smooth person. As he was leaving for the evening, he gave Sadie a nod goodbye and he walked out the front door towards an unknown destination.
