III: Origins

    "Harpy Hare, where have you buried

    She can't keep them all caged,

    		One of Lorellia's earliest memories, was being buried by her mother.

    The final child of a trio of triplets, she and her siblings never knew any kind of comfort or stability in their early years as the bastard children to a callous human Duke and his Elven scullery maid who fled from her servitude as soon as she learned she was pregnant. Now on the run from him and his men and expecting three children, all of the odds were simply stacked against her. But her mother was clever, and had a natural sylvan nature. So she fled to the woods she once called home, and gave birth in a ditch with no one to aid her- losing one child in the process.

    She wasn't prone to affection and at times could be seen as an icy woman; not one to give kisses and cuddles or tuck them in at night. Not that they had beds to be tucked into. But she protected her children with everything she had, and prepared them for the hardships they would surely face out in the world. She did love her children, even if she rarely showed it.

    One of the ways she would keep her children hidden, was to hide them in a hole in the forest floor under a canvas of grass and leaves. A minor illusion over it would make them practically undetectable- her mother was also adept at sorcery. Taught to her by her own mother, and her mother before that, and so on and so forth. When Lorellia and her siblings were hid, it was dirty and cold, sometimes dark, and their mother wasn't there. She could be away for hours at a time, sometimes days. And during this time they had to stay completely silent no matter what, which led to the triplets inventing their own language made up of hand signals that Lorellia still remembers to this day.

    But one day, when they were 6, mother never returned. And the siblings didn't have time to grieve. They could only move on, and survive like their mother had taught them to. Though they were triplets Lorellia, the first-born, took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings as they lived in the woods for 5 more years. Until the youngest triplet Larammia became ill with an unknown illness that no herbal remedy would cure. Desperate and helpless, the children were luckily found and taken in by a coven of Druid witches, the Circle of Earth.
